On a 5-day safari we’ll go on an unforgettable adventure through southern Tanzania’s most fascinating landscapes from Dar es Salaam by train. The safari begins with an early pickup. At 5:00 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the Dar es Salaam train station. At 6:00 AM, you will board the modern SGR train for an exciting journey from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro City. This early morning departure offers a comfortable and efficient way to begin your adventure.
The train ride takes you through the beautiful countryside of Tanzania, offering glimpses of indigenous life and natural landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Morogoro at around 7:20 AM, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional safari driver-guide, who will be at the station waiting, ready to begin the next stage of your safari experience, where you will hike Uluguru Mt. to Bondwa Peak.

Soon After enjoying your breakfast at your hotel in the morning, you will begin your journey to Mikumi National Park at around 7:00AM. The scenic drive takes approximately two hours, offering views of the Uluguru Mountains and rural areas along the way.
Upon arrival, you will embark on a full-day game drive across the park’s open plains. Mikumi is home to a wide variety of wildlife species, including elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and many more species.
At midday, you will enjoy a relaxing hot lunch at Mikumi Cottages, located inside the park. The adventure continues in the late afternoon with more wildlife spotting before heading to your camp for a peaceful overnight stay.

In the morning, you'll enjoy an early breakfast and check out from your camp as you prepare for a fantastic drive of about one hour to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Upon arrival, you will obtain hiking permits and meet your experienced local mountain guide, who will lead your trek.
The highlight of the day is the hike to Sanje Waterfalls and reaching up to the top of Mwana Hana Waterfalls, a breathtaking 170-meter-high cascade nestled deep within the lush rain forest. Along the trail, keep an eye out for endemic monkeys, such as the Udzungwa red colobus, as well as rare bird species unique to this biodiverse region. Once at the base of the falls, you’ll have time to swim in the wonderful natural pool and capture unforgettable moments through photos. This magical experience in the mountains offers both adventure and tranquility.

To this day, we will embark on a full-day guided hike to Chizuwa Mountains Peak, where you will have a chance to enjoy the Chizuwa Waterfalls, a hidden gem within the Chizuwa Mountains.
Chizuwa Waterfalls. This lesser-known trail offers breathtaking views and a chance to spot the park’s rich biodiversity, including unique plant species, butterflies, and colorful birds. Along the way, you’ll stop for a
packed lunch in the serene setting of the forest, surrounded by nature's calling sounds and fresh mountain air.
The hike is both invigorating and peaceful, perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers. After the trek, we'll unwind and enjoy the calm atmosphere before heading back. Your overnight stay will be at the comfortable and eco-friendly Camp Bastian.

After breakfast, we'll begin your morning with a village tour combined with a guided bush walking safari accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide. We'll explore the natural surroundings on foot, learning about the area's diverse plants, bird species, wildlife, and traditional merits of the bush, while also having an insight into the local culture and history.
This enriching experience offers a deeper connection with the environment beyond the vehicle safari. At around 10:00AM, we will drive from Mikumi to Morogoro Town in time to board the afternoon train. At 4:00 PM, you'll enjoy a ride on the SGR train back to Dar es Salaam, marking the end of your unforgettable adventure.
