Mikumi National Park is located in southern Tanzania, near Morogoro, and was established in 1964. It is part of the larger Selous ecosystem and is known for its open savannahs that resemble the Serengeti. The park is home to elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and many antelope species. Bird lovers can spot over 400 bird species. Popular activities include game drives, birdwatching, and guided nature walks. Mikumi offers easy access from Dar es Salaam and provides an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s rich wildlife and natural beauty.
