Best Time for a Tanzania Family Safari
June – October (Dry Season) The most popular period for family safaris. Dry conditions mean thinner vegetation, animals concentrate near water, and the roads are at their most manageable. The Great Wildebeest Migration river crossings typically occur between July and September — a spectacle that leaves children speechless. Evening temperatures are cool and comfortable.
January – February (Green Season) An excellent alternative for families travelling during northern hemisphere school holiday periods. The Serengeti calving season delivers extraordinary predator activity, the landscape is beautifully green, and lodge rates are often more competitive. Rainfall is generally brief and does not disrupt game drives.
December – January (School Holidays) One of our busiest family safari periods. With international schools on break, we see strong demand from the US, UK, and Australia in December and January.
