day-by-day itinerary

Where you go, what you do, and where you sleep each night.

You'll stay both nights at Eileen's Trees Inn, positioned within easy reach of Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Lake Eyasi. Additional accommodation before or after the tour can be arranged for an extra cost.

Day1

Tarangire National Park

Pick-up from Arusha or Kilimanjaro AirportFull day game drive

Your driver-guide collects you in the morning and heads south-west into Tarangire National Park. Tarangire holds more elephants than anywhere else in Tanzania, with herds of 50 to 100 gathering along the Tarangire River, alongside lions, leopards, giraffes and over 550 recorded bird species.

The park's baobab-scattered plains give it a landscape unlike anywhere else in the north. You'll spend the day driving through it with stops wherever wildlife appears, before heading to Eileen's Trees Inn for the night, roughly a 1–2 hour drive from the park.

Overnight — Night 1 Eileen's Trees Inn Mid-range lodge, 1–2 hr drive from Tarangire NP.

Day2

Ngorongoro Crater

Full day inside the craterReturn to Eileen's Trees Inn

An early start takes you down into the Ngorongoro Crater — a collapsed volcano 600 metres deep and 260km² wide, home to more than 30,000 animals. Expect the highest density of lions in Africa, resident black rhino, large bull elephants and flamingos gathered at the soda lake on the crater floor.

You'll spend the day driving the crater floor with a picnic lunch included, before climbing back up to the rim and returning to Eileen's Trees Inn for a second night, ready for an early departure to Lake Eyasi the next morning.

Overnight — Night 2 Eileen's Trees Inn Same lodge as Night 1, convenient for the early drive to Lake Eyasi.

Day3

Lake Eyasi & the Hadzabe — Tour Ends

Cultural morning at Lake EyasiNo overnight

After breakfast, you'll drive roughly 2–2.5 hours to the shores of Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe — one of the last hunter-gatherer communities in Africa, still using bow-and-arrow hunting and click-based language passed down for generations. You'll join a small group for a guided morning bush walk, observing traditional hunting and gathering techniques first-hand.

Afterwards, you'll visit a nearby Datoga homestead to see their traditional blacksmithing, where metal is still hand-forged into tools, jewelry and arrowheads. In the afternoon, you'll be transferred back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, marking the end of your tour.

Kilimanjaro and Safari Our experience with Climb and Sum It Africa was truly exceptional from start to finish. We booked a combined Kilimanjaro climb and safari, and it exceeded all our expectations. The Kilimanjaro trek was incredibly well organized. The entire team was professional, attentive, and supportive throughout the journey. Our guide demonstrated outstanding expertise, ensuring not only our safety but also our comfort and confidence every step of the way. The crew took great care of us, always checking on our condition and making sure we were well prepared. The food was excellent—far beyond what we expected on a mountain—and the camp facilities were impressive, offering a level of comfort that felt close to a luxury experience in such a remote environment. After the climb, our safari adventure was equally unforgettable. Our driver-guide was highly skilled, knowledgeable, and engaging. He shared fascinating stories and insights about wildlife and the parks, which made the experience even more enriching. Thanks to his expertise, we were fortunate enough to see the Big Five, along with many other incredible animals. Overall, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience made perfect by a truly professional and passionate team. We highly recommend Climb and Sum It Africa to anyone looking for a safe, well-organized, and unforgettable adventure in Tanzania.

6 days Machame Route Innocent (Mountain-Guide, raised in Machame) and his Team made this tour to an wonderful experience! Although I had to cope with nausea and mild headache (AMS) he let me never loose the confidence to accomplish my goal. He was very conscientious in monitoring my healthstatus (including pulse oxymetry) which let me feel save all the time. Experiencing the sunrise on an almost 6000m Volcano after hiking 5days through different vegetation zones is a memory I will never forget!

An experience like no other. Absolutely amazing experience! I climbed mount Kilimanjaro with my father and we couldn't be happier with the trip. The guide Innocent relies on extremely professional and caring team. Their support was not only crucial for the success of the climb but also making it very special. The attention to detail and tailor-made experience surprised us a lot. This doesn't apply to the climb alone but also to the preparation, as Innocent made sure we were preparing well and assuring all the gear was in place and ready for the adventure. Accommodation was way above what we saw for other groups and the food made it feel like we were far from a remote camp in a mountain. I highly recommend contacting them if you plan on climbing Kili and are looking for a top notch experience!

Safari tour I had an amazing experience with Climb & Sum It Africa on my safari! Even though it was the rainy season, everything was perfectly organized. Our driver was excellent – he really knew how to handle the trails, and while other vehicles got stuck in the mud, we made it through without any problem. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five and so many other animals – it truly felt like a dream come true. The whole trip was well-planned, safe, and full of unforgettable moments. Special thanks to Innocent for making my Africa trip so memorable. If you’re thinking about visiting Tanzania, I highly recommend choosing Climb & Sum It Africa – you will not regret it!

Unvergesslicher Trip Wow! Empfehlenswert!!!
