Trip Highlights
day-by-day itinerary
Where you go each day, what you'll see, and where you sleep each night.
You'll stay both nights at a safari camp in Nyerere National Park. Flight and game drive times are approximate and depend on the flight schedule and conditions.
Fly from Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park
After breakfast, you'll be transferred from your hotel to Zanzibar's airport for a short flight to Nyerere National Park, one of Africa's largest protected areas. On arrival at the airstrip, your guide will meet you for the transfer to your camp.
After lunch, you'll head out on your first game drive, with a chance to see elephants, giraffes, lions and many other animals, before returning to camp for dinner and your first night in the bush.
Game Drive and Boat Safari in Nyerere
You'll start with an early morning game drive, when the animals are most active, with a chance to see lions, elephants, buffalo and the park's African wild dogs.
After lunch at camp, you'll spend the afternoon on a boat safari on the Rufiji River, drifting past hippos, crocodiles and birdlife, with elephants often coming down to drink along the banks. You'll return to camp for dinner.
Morning Game Drive and Fly Back to Zanzibar
After an early breakfast, you'll enjoy a final morning game drive in Nyerere National Park, with one last chance to spot the animals you've been hoping to see.
You'll then be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar, marking the end of your fly-in safari.
