4-Day Fly In from Zanzibar to Serengeti
trip overview
From the beaches of Zanzibar to the heart of the Serengeti.
This 4-day fly-in safari takes you from Zanzibar to the Serengeti by light aircraft, saving you the long journey by road and giving you three full nights inside the park. You'll spend your days on game drives with an experienced driver-guide in a 4×4 safari vehicle, searching for lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and, depending on the time of year, the wildebeest herds, before flying back to Zanzibar on Day 4.
Trip Highlights
day-by-day itinerary
Where you go, what you do, and where you sleep each night.
You'll fly in on Day 1 and spend all three nights inside the Serengeti, flying back to Zanzibar on Day 4. Additional accommodation in Zanzibar before and after the safari can be arranged for an extra cost.
Zanzibar to Serengeti National Park
You'll be taken to the airport in Zanzibar for your light-aircraft flight to the Serengeti, flying over the coast and across northern Tanzania, which saves you the long drive from Arusha.
On landing at the Serengeti airstrip, your driver-guide meets you for an afternoon game drive on the way to camp, with a first chance of seeing lion, elephant, giraffe and the plains game that fill the park.
Full Day in Serengeti National Park
A full day is spent exploring the Serengeti, one of the richest game viewing areas in Tanzania. With an early start, you'll be out when the cats are most active, with good chances of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and, depending on the time of year, the passing wildebeest herds.
You'll enjoy a packed lunch out on the plains and return to the same camp for a second night.
Serengeti Game Drives
Another full day on safari, with your driver-guide following the latest sightings and herd movements to take you to the best areas. The Serengeti's mix of open plains, riverine woodland and rocky outcrops, called kopjes, means no two drives are the same.
You'll return to camp for your third and final night in the park.
Serengeti to Zanzibar — Tour Ends
After an early breakfast, you'll enjoy a final game drive in the Serengeti before being taken to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.
You'll be back on the island in the afternoon, ready to relax on the beach, marking the end of your safari.
